LISA ANNA PALMER
STRATEGIC ADVISOR – BOARD MEMBER
I have dedicated my career to help people of all ages connect with their inner leader and manifest a life that is aligned with their passions, interests, and talents. Born in Montreal and raised in Joliette, QC, I moved to Ottawa, ON, many moons ago to study Psychology at the University of Ottawa. I’ve always followed my heart, which has led me to shift my career and launch Cattelan Palmer Consulting in August of 2011. Since that time, I have had the pleasure of helping over a thousand people get clear on their passions, envision and plan their career, develop learning plans, and become better equipped to put their best foot forward to employers and land great jobs.
As a ProActive Certified Coach and a Passion Test Facilitator, combined with over twenty-five years of experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors, I have extensive experience developing and delivering People strategies, coaching and training people to lead and advance their careers, and developing and implementing corporate Talent Management and Talent Acquisition initiatives.
As a former Corporate Recruitment Strategist for a renowned employer, I know and understand what employers are looking for in their ideal candidate. I draw upon this knowledge and the special insights that I’ve gained to provide career coaching and advice to future university and college students as they prepare to make important choices about their education and future careers.
I have experience working within the private, public, and non-profit sectors with organizations of all shapes and sizes. I’ve delivered over fifty workshops to hundreds of new comers to Canada to successfully land jobs and succeed in the workplace. I have also taught university students how to prepare for and land work in their field as a coach facilitator for the young women pursuing advanced degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) as part of the Women in Leadership mentorship program at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. I taught post docs to successfully search for and land jobs in their field in North America and Europe. I am passionate about advancing Inclusion of all diverse groups including people from around the globe, Indigenous people, persons with disabilities, and people from all gender identities and orientations. Everyone has a right to dream, and everyone has a right to go for it!
I joined KLIQ because I share the passion that the Founders Kashif and Hana, and all the members of the KLIQ team, have for helping students succeed. As a leadership and career advancement coach, and as a Mom to a High School Junior soon to become a Senior, I know and understand the struggle people go through to make decisions about post-secondary education. I believe that KLIQ.ca is the solution that will help people seeking information about what colleges and universities are a right fit for them. It is an excellent tool that will make seeking information about post-secondary education a lot easier and much more fun.
